Nice! I definitely need to dig deeper into it to learn its true capabilities.Īfter all it's a DMG plugin so I know I'm not using it right if I can't get it to sound right. I always have to give it a couple of listening passes after implementing, just to make sure I'm not fooling myself, but the results stand up. I'm amazed at how easy it is to grab any rhythmic instrument that's poking out or needs emphasis (kick too loud, snare too soft, high hat too piercing) and just pull it where I need it to go. It was a bit inscrutable at first how the parameters work together, but once I got the hang, the results are far better than I get out of ff mb or another similar dynamic module. The plug's getting pulled up a whole heck of a lot before pitching to analog. Like 2 or 3 dynamic eqs per instance and then a broadband, all in the same instance!Same. And expansion with the deadband active instead of boosts (if the mix is bad). The dynamics are so transparent, I am starting to reach for them as opposed to static cuts. I think mastering for me is now pre and post multiplicity phases.
